Life of the Party

Kitchens sure to beckon guests at every event

Despite the bells and whistles, gadgets and electronics, kitchens really have come full circle from their earliest, primitive form. During the 17th century, houses were one room at best, and the hearth was where women spent most of their days preparing meals and doing chores. The family would congregate around the fire to eat meals, sometimes at a table if they were lucky enough to not have to eat on stools.

After being moved outside to prevent house fires and to the back of the house to camouflage the mess, the kitchen once again finds itself at the center of the home—in an updated format of course. A range takes the place of a wood burning fire, and islands surrounded by seating are much more comfortable than wooden stools. However, it has remained the most functional area of the home and a place for families and friends to congregate.

The four kitchens of Homearama are no exception with plenty of room for a party partnered with the latest and greatest amenities in cooking technology today.
